October 10, 2019 Meeting
Holiday Tabletop and Still Life Workshop
Coordinated by Michelle Tinger
As the holidays approach, we will use this workshop as an opportunity to create festive holiday images that can be used for printed or electronic greeting cards or photo-related gifts. Using your own image for these items adds a personal touch as well as showcases your photography talents to all your friends and relatives. So make sure you bring your camera and preferably a tripod to this meeting.
We will have 6 or 7 lightbox stations available. Some will have a collection of themed items for you to set up your composition. We will also have a couple empty stations so that you can use your own items from home, if you so choose. Suggestions for items include centerpieces, lanterns, fake candles, greenery, bows, ribbons, gift bags or boxes, ornaments and other decorations. Don’t forget you can also do a Thanksgiving theme with pumpkins, mums, etc. Out of courtesy for the church, please do NOT bring soap flakes or other fake snow or loose glitter. We also will NOT allow any candles with “real” flame.
In order to give people as much hands-on time as possible, there will not be any instruction. However, a document with tips and examples is included with the link below. There will also be a couple of experienced still life photographers available to provide guidance, if needed.
Some of the images taken at this workshop will be used for the meeting in November, when we will do photo critiques.
