CCCC March 11, 2021 Program
“Giving Back”
By Jerry Koons
One of Coastal Carolina Camera Club’s chartered members, Jerry Koons, was the guest presenter of the March 11th program, “Giving Back.” Members who know Jerry remember what an asset he was to the club as an instructor and mentor. Although he readily admits to slowing down as he ages, that has not stopped him from what he considers a rewarding experience of giving back.
In his presentation, Jerry explains that one of the advantages of slowing down is that he has more time to do research on camera equipment and photography techniques, and he shares that information as frequent contributor to The Proof Sheet, the monthly newsletter of his new club, Manassas Warrenton Camera Club in Virginia. His presentation showcases some of the articles Jerry has written and videos created for his club. His gorgeous corresponding photos will also be shared for all to enjoy.
Jerry's first camera was a waist level Brownie Hawkeye and first somewhat serious camera was a Pentax Spotmatic and he switched to Olympus digital shortly after he retired. He has been a Canon shooter for the last 19 years. His favorite photographic target is birds. His advice to all of you is to take advantage of the photo opportunities you have while you are young and able. Make that "bucket list" and tick the items off.
